In Maharashtra, after enduring heatwaves, the India Meteorological Department has sounded a statewide alert for rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning over the next five days, including the Mumbai metropolitan region. Several districts, including Pune, Nashik, Jalgaon, Solapur, Ahilyanagar, and the Marathwada region, have been placed under an orange alert, with gusty winds reaching 50-60 kilometres per hour.

Considering the change in the weather conditions, the state government has issued an advisory to the farmers to protect harvested crops from storms, hail and wind during the period. Authorities have issued advisories urging farmers to protect harvested crops and citizens to stay safe and avoid standing under trees, tin sheds, or near electric poles, transformers, and power lines during storms.
