Manipur’s 12th Legislative Assembly to Hold 7th Session Today After President’s Rule Revoked

In Manipur, the Legislative Assembly Secretariat has notified that the 7th session of the ongoing 12th State Legislative Assembly will be held at 4 this evening. Chief Minister Yumnam Singh chaired the first cabinet meeting of his government late last evening at the Cabinet Hall of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat shortly after being sworn in.
President’s rule in Manipur was revoked, and BJP MLA Yumnam Khemchand Singh was sworn in as Chief Minister of Manipur yesterday. Two other MLAs- Nemcha Kipgen of BJP and Losii Dikho of NPF were administered as Deputy Chief Ministers, while BJP MLA- Govindas Konthoujam and NPP MLA- Khuraijam Loken were administered as ministers during the swearing-in ceremony held at Lok Bhavan in Imphal.
The President Rule was imposed in the State on 13 February 2025, following the resignation of then Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and kept the Manipur Legislative Assembly under suspended animation.
